Tips Of Poultry Hens Breeding

  A truly well-developed household would not be complete without poultry. In order to obtain the highest possible egg production, it is not only necessary to have favorable housing conditions and a generous space in which creatures can move. The right food for chickens must strengthen their body, give them a harmonious development and cover a wide range of their nutritional needs.

The good health of poultry is very important for obtaining quality eggs or meat, and the common denominator of these two objectives is the food we provide.

The need for protein and mineral salts in chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese or guinea fowl cannot be met when the diet is made with poor quality feed and fodder.

Instead, in order for the number of eggs to be satisfactory and their nutritional potential to correspond to the needs of the market, it is necessary for the poultry feed to be varied and to have high nutritional values. Among the most suitable ingredients for the most complete nutrition are:

Feed:
The fodder is purchased in a form already prepared by the manufacturer. Their advantage comes from the lack of the need to mix them with other ingredients before they can be offered as poultry feed. Due to their optimized content and the raw materials used in their composition, the fodder ensures a natural growth.
Mixtures:
Based on the concentrate purchased from the store, the mixture is enriched in the household. For proper nutrition of poultry, it is recommended to add household cereals, such as wheat, corn or sunflower or bran.

the dry mixture is prepared from ground cereal grains, also known as grits, to which are added grits, cakes or bran. This type of mixture must be made available to the birds at all times in automatic or semi-automatic feeding devices.
the wet mixture, like the dry mixture, is based on howling, but adds to it fodder such as brewer's yeast or shell flour. All this is moistened with water, milk or even whey, in a proportion of no more than 40%.
the wet mixture fermented with the help of yeast has a high content of vitamins A and E, with special benefits on the body of birds, due to the presence of lecithin and enzymes;
grain mixtures are prepared from dried and moistened grains

What the cereal mixture should contain

Regardless of the type of mixture that each poultry farmer prefers, it must contain the elements necessary for a varied diet:

minerals from salt and snail shells, important during the breeding period of one-day-old chicks to the chicken stage;
vitamins, provided by at least 1 sqm / poultry with grass;
carbohydrates, obtained from cereals;
fats, provided by cereal or sunflower oil.

Basic principles needed for a good cereal mix and a balanced diet
Although each poultry farmer has his own routine and equipment and habits to feed the birds, there are some principles that none of them would deviate from. Thus, the diet must be as balanced as possible and be conducive to optimal development, given that both the quantity and quality of food decisively influence the way in which living things grow and develop. Once they have found the optimal formula for their needs, breeders must maintain it for as long as possible, in order to avoid the nutritional imbalance of the birds.

Poultry farming has optimal results as long as the chosen diet is the right one. With the healthy feeding principles listed above, egg production will bring real benefits not only in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality.

I've written in the past about what foods are good for chickens. In this article we want to expose the pluses of a food, easy to find in any household, for our winged friends. Garlic is good for the health of chickens and, as you well know, humans. Undoubtedly, most people consider this plant a natural remedy.

Garlic was used in ancient Egypt for medicinal purposes. Even today, the elders tell us to eat garlic to keep out the cold. But is garlic good for chickens? Many breeders answer this question in the affirmative. Detail in the rows below.

Garlic helps strengthen the immune system, improves respiratory function and reduces the smell of chicken droppings. Garlic is also beneficial against worms, and on the outside it is recognized for keeping insects and ticks away. In addition, you can use garlic water to spray on chickens that have problems with lice.

How do we feed chickens with garlic?

This plant can be introduced into the diet of chickens in several ways

Supplementing a bird's diet with plenty of nutrients is beneficial for optimal health, can alleviate monotony and boredom and helps solve seasonal problems such as cold or excessive heat. Instead, we need to know very well what foods not to offer to our winged friends.

First of all, chickens need fresh water every day. The best bird feed has a well-balanced formula depending on the needs of the chickens we raise. For example, a hen that lays eggs needs more calcium. The birds we raise for meat need food that contains a high level of protein. The Agroland team strongly recommends Vivabio feed.

In water

Add a few cloves of garlic to the chickens' drinking water after you have crushed them. Don't forget to change the water every few days;

In the food

Add garlic powder to the bird feed (no more than 2% of the total food provided);

You can also give the chickens fresh, crushed or minced garlic in a small bowl.

Note: If you want the birds to taste garlic, give them this plant in small quantities from an early age.

Although it is part of the same family of onion plants and contains a toxin that can cause anemia if chickens receive too much garlic, birds can enjoy the benefits if you pay attention to the amount you give them. In the end, any excess, especially when it comes to nutrition, is not good.

How are you doing? Do you offer garlic to chickens? Tell us in the comments section.
